When can a Ukrainian family with children apply for a Groeipakket?

After the Ukrainian family is registered in the municipality, you can apply at a Groeipakket payment fund. The payment fund needs the national register numbers of the Ukrainian parents/guardians present here to start the application.

To ensure a smooth and secure payment, the Groeipakket payment fund also needs a Belgian bank account number of the parents/guardians. The Ukrainian family can easily open an account with any Belgian bank by using the basic banking service.

When can a Ukrainian family open an account in Belgium?

If the Ukrainian family has a certificate of temporary protection, it can open an account at any bank. This can be done through the basic banking service.

Can I help the Ukrainian family apply for the Groeipakket for Ukrainian children?

This is possible via a Groeipakket application. The application can be submitted directly via the website, by mail or on paper with one of the 5 payment funds.

You can also use this simple application tool. Applications submitted via the tool will automatically go to the public Groeipakket payment fund, FONS.

Can I receive the Groeipakket for the Ukrainian family's children myself?

If the children's parents or guardians are present in the Ukrainian family, they will receive the Groeipakket for their children.

If you host a Ukrainian child whose parents or Ukrainian guardians are not present in your family, you can apply to receive the Groeipakket for that child yourself.

Do I need to let my Groeipakket payment fund know if I am hosting a Ukrainian family with children?

No. You can, however, help the family apply for the Groeipakket via a Groeipakket payment fund or through this simple application tool.

If I host a Ukrainian family in my family, will this affect my children's Groeipakket?

No. Your family and the Ukrainian family are considered separate families. As such, this does not affect your children's Groeipakket.
