What happens to the Groeipakket if my child falls ill during the school year?

If your child falls ill during the school year, it is entitled to the Groeipakket until the end of the summer holidays of the following school year at the latest, subject to proof of illness through sickness certificates. After 6 months of illness, the absence must always be justified with an examination by an evaluating physician from Opgroeien.

If your child is diagnosed with a specific support need, it has:

• an unconditional right to the basic amount of the Groeipakket until at the latets the month in which it turns 21
• and possibly also the right to a care allowance.
