Until the month in which your child turns 18, it is unconditionally entitled to a Groeipakket. Thus, your child may work as a job student without restriction until it turns 18.

From 18 on until the month in which your child turns 25, it may be entitled to a Groeipakket if it meets the study and employment conditions.

If your child works while studying, it may work a maximum of 600 hours per year under a student contract.

In addition, your child may:

  • work no more than 80 hours per month under another contract
  • only pursue a self-employed activity in which no contributions are due as a self-employed person in main occupation
  • not receive social benefits.

These rules apply throughout the year. No distinction is made between school months and holiday months.
